Pottage Pie

Our take on a classic British dish!

For this recipe, you can use ready-made mince or you can try our homemade tempeh mince.

Pie innards: 

  • 1 large onion

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 medium-sized potatoes chopped into small 4mm cubes

  • 2 medium-sized carrot or small swede chopped into small 4mm cubes

  • 1 tbsp gravy granules or 1 vegetable stock cube

  • 2 tbsp tamari or soy sauce or ½ tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp vinegar (I used Chinese black vinegar) (optional)

  • ½ tbsp of coarse black pepper (optional)

  • 400ml water

Boil with lid on for around 35 minutes, turn off the heat, and then add…

  • 200g mince (I used soy mince)

Let it cool for 20 minutes.

Mash:

  • 120ml oat juice

  • 60ml olive oil

  • 1½ tsp salt

Mash the potatoes.

Add the pie Innards of the pie into a pie dish, and add the mashed potatoes on top.

Bake for 30 minutes at 190°c. Enjoy!
